How To Use The AccliMate
Using the Acclimate is easy! Here are some of the things the AccliMate can do: - The AccliMate helps you move your fish from place-to-place. Whether it's from the fish store to your home or from your home to the coral frag party, the AccliMate is specifically made to replace the family Tupperware and plastic bags.
- When you get your fish home the AccliMate helps you acclimate your fish without needing to move it to a separate acclimation container (read: salad bowl).
- The AccliMate helps you capture your fish in an aquarium. It works as an excellent fish trap!
Using The AccliMate For Transportation1. Place the strainer box into the outer container. Take the AccliMate with you to the fish or pet store. Be sure to take the fastening strap and cover with you. 2. Ask the attendant to place your purchased fish into the AccliMate instead of a plastic bag. This reduces the carbon footprint of our hobby. 3. Slide the cover into place and secure it with the fastening strap. ***A note of caution: The AccliMate's cover is NOT guaranteed to be water tight. It will do a good job of keeping water from leaking but it will not keep water off of your car seat if it falls over. Make sure you secure your AccliMate well in your car or place it on the floor. Using The AccliMate For Acclimation1. After arriving at your destination you can set your AccliMate on a table top, the floor or use the hanger to hang it on the side of your aquarium. 2. Remove the fastening strap and cover. 3. If you are going to hang the AccliMate on the side of your aquarium then use the fastening strap to secure the AccliMate to the hanger. Note: There are convenient slots in the hanger to keep the strap from slipping. Simply thread the strap through the slots and wrap it tightly around the AccliMate. Fasten the strap by putting the end through the plastic loop and folding the fastener back over itself. 4. The AccliMate was designed to accommodate just about any method of acclimation. The enclosed tube can be used for drip acclimation and the provided clamp does a good job of controlling the drip rate. 5. After completing the acclimation process simply lift the strainer box up using the finger holes and let all of the water drain back into the outer container. 6. Use the strainer to release your fish into the aquarium. Using The AccliMate As A Fish Trap1. Remove the cover from the AccliMate. Leave the strainer inside so you can use it when you reach your destination. 2. Attach the fishing lines provided with your AccliMate to the small holes in the cover. 3. Push the fishing line through the holes in the side of the AccliMate and insert the cover into its groove. Leave it open enough to allow your fish room to enter the trap. 4. Place the fish trap into your aquarium with the fish line in easy reach. 5. Put your favorite bait into the trap then step aside and wait. 6. When your fish is in the trap simply pull up on the two fishing lines at the same time to close the cover. |
